A new way to code your secret messages
Illustration with this key; Swedish to Frensh to English and back to Swedish again. That ought to do it.
Secret in Swedish: Fransmännen är rädda för att deras språk ska dö ut, men det är ingen ko på isen.
encoded to Frensh: Les Français ont peur que leur langue va mourir, mais il n'y a pas de vache sur la glace.encoded to English: The French are afraid that their language will die, but there was no cow on ice.
encoded back to Swedish: Den franska är rädda för att deras språk kommer att dö, men det fanns ingen ko på isen.
Conclusion: I am not going to get the Nobelprice for this one either!

Let's Barack 'em!
- The united states of america is not a country which practises torture.
Thank you.
I wonder what it's like for George W Bush to know that he's going down in history as one of the most violent, dumbest and meanest presidents ever.
Yesterday I thanked my lucky star that he wasn't president during the Cuba-crisis. He'd gone: "Let's nuke 'em!" and I or you wouldn't be here.
Note: In Swedish Barack is a house which contains many people. We usually use barack as a substitute for our ordinary buildings. They're practical, everyone fits and are able to satisfy their basic needs.

Words from MySpace - God & Pärlemor
Teacher: What are you drawing?
Kid: I'm drawing a picture of God!
Teacher: But you can't draw God, no one knows what he looks like.
Kid: Oh. Well... I guess they'll know as soon as I'm done.
Swedish word of the day:
PÄRLEMOR (perlemor) = Pearlymother (But meaning: "Nacre")

Words from MySpace - Names with some eggs on the side...
Everything started with Jerry Hall and Bryan Ferry.
I had heard that Mick Jagger made the following comment about knicking Jerry from her then fiance Brian Ferry: "Well, someone had to save her from becoming Jerry Ferry".
It continued with "if Norweigan journalist/writer Åsne Seijerstaad married Brad Pitt" she'd become Åsne Pitt, which is really naughty but extreemly funny, if you know swedish.
And if Glenn Close married the former (swedish) football-player Glenn Hysén they'd both become Glenn Hysén.
Since then I (and Oliver) have continued trying to come up with funny marriage-combinations and here follows some of my most memorable contributions:
If Blu Cantrell marries Jack Black she'd become Blu Black.
If May West marries Brian May, she'd become May May.
Or... even better if she married Morris Day.
If Holly Hunter marries Edwin Moses...
Halle Berry and that guy from Hall and Oates...
And now when it's allowed for gay's to marry, then what about if Cliff Barnes married author George Hanger. Exciting!

Words from MySpace - Sign O Times
"Sign O Times" was the first Prince song I remember hearing (back in 87). Not that I became an instant Prince-fan, but still...
The lyric goes:
In september my cousin tried reefer for the first time.
Now he's doing horse.
It's June.
As a 13 year old I didn't have the slightest clue as to what Reefer where (however I knew what Horse was ) but of course I wanted to find out...
Now, this was back in the ages of stones and there wasn't any Internet, Googles and Wikipedias. I used a common dictionary and somehow I ended up concluding that reefer was misspelled, cause reefer couldn't be found and the closest word that actually made some kind of sense was that it had something to do with paying taxes.
I found the explanation a bit unsatisfactory.
But yeah.. sure paying taxes can be e real drag, and if you're a very sensitive person like Prince's cousin might be, who knows... paying taxes could be the very thing that pushes you over the edge towards a life in drug-hell.
I was only 13, what did I know?
Now why am I telling you this?
Currently I'm reading "Brother Ray" and today he talked about reefer in the same sense that Prince actually ment it - Reefer as in a synonym for cannabis or spliff.
I've come full circle.

Words from MySpace - Stutter-points
At my department we've got this guy in economics who from time to time lecture about the budget (at meetings). Fair enough... and he's quite funny otherwise, it's just that when he speaks in public he gets extremely boring. Getting boring and economy is NOT a good combination.
Anyway... yesterday I decided to avoid slipping of into my own fantasy world or just plainly falling asleep by counting all the times he stuttered and over the 20 or so minutes he talked he managed to accomplish an amazing 178 stutter-points!
I kind of got a guilty coincience about it.. but I did have a good intent and managed to amuse myself some and most importantly: I've never listened so attentively to him before.

Words from MySpace - Sharks & Princes
Swedish-word-translated-into-english-of-the-day:
KORTHAJ - CARDSHARK
A Korthaj/Cardshark is someone who's really niffty playing card. Like like Paul Newman in "The Hustler" but with a deck of cards instead of a cew.
Song-of-the-day:
It must be "We all stand together" with Paul MaCartney, that I found myself humming.
Picture-the-day:
If I had a point I guess I made it.
Be glorious!

Words from MySpace - The Invisable
O Sisters & Brothers, that is Sorrow!
It comes like dark waters through the chinks, whisteling low-voiced, just like winterwinds through a broken window.
It huddles on the backseats of the bus and it strikes you like a nasty odour when you lift the toilet-seat, ready to throw up.
It chuckles your throat and makes your hands cold as ice, your tongue gets swollen, unable to move, and you can not speak.
It holds a knife against your skin, but you do not bleed.
It throws its rocks at you, but you do not fall.
You're walking up straight - head held high but deep inside you're crumbeling helplesly.
That is Sorrow, O Sweet Sisters & Brothers!
But is a poem ever important?
You've gotta have perspecitve on things and honestly my dog at the time (Wanda) was a hell of a lot more important than that poem. However... the poem probably ment more to me than half the kids in junior high.
And then there's someone like Ghandhi or Hitler who in some distant way probably effected my life more than even my dog.
Confession: At times... after reading those pretty lousy first lines, the last two still manage to grab me. I do not know why.

Words from MySpace - Era's not Eros
Era
I ment to write a very candid blog about sex, as that's what's been on my mind these last couple of days. You see I'm reading this book about porn - not in a juicy way but it's an objective look into the industri, our views about it. The authour actually succeeds in not taking sides. Leaving me alone with all my values, questions and thoughts.
It's a scary place to be. *somewhat ironic*
Oh well, instead of writing about sex I've decided to write a little something about eras.
I was in the kitchen making myself a sandwich and just gave my toast era a brief thought. And then kinda laughed at myself for deviding my life into the stupidest eras.
Other than the Toast-era I'd like t mention the...
... Orca/Killer whale era (17 years ago) I was consumed by killer whales and thought they where the coolest thing ever, later I've come to my senses and realized that squids by far is the coolest animal ever invented, however I wouldn't say I'm in a squid-era... yet!
... Black poetry era (10 years ago)... not my brightest moment perhaps. Lasted too long.
... "Igby goes down" era. I think I watched that movie almost every day two summers ago.
... Second world war era. (15 years ago) I just found it extremly interesting and even went on to write essays about it in my free/spare time.. just because I wanted to know and learn more.
... The-making-real-chocolate-from-cream,-milk,-cacao-and-lots-of-suger-at-Helenas-place-after-school-era (we were 17). One of my greater eras actually. : )
Wiki explains:
Era is a word used in English since 1615, derived from Late Latin aera "an era or epoch from which time is reckoned," probably identical to Latin æra "counters used for calculation," plural of æs "brass, money".
Like epoch, "era" in English it originally meant "the starting point of an age;" the meaning "system of chronological notation" is c.1646; that of "historical period" is 1741.
In chronology, an era is the highest level for the organization of the measurement of time. A calendar era span of many years which are numbered beginning at a specific epoch, which often marks the origin of a state or cosmology, the birth of a leader, or another significant historical or mythological event; it can be called after either accordingly.

Words from MySpace - Gullbert
So, there was this guy called Gullbert who hated his name. (Gullbert would be Cudd(ly)bert (not very manly-like) if you translated it and although it's alright for a Swedish female to be named Gullan (Cuddlie), Gullbert just doesn't cut it - no parents in a sane state of mind would ever call their baby that - apart from these parents. (I'll get back to why later on.)
When Gullbert reached the glorious age of 18 he was able to change his name to something plain and simple, like Lars.
From the other side of the counter, at the institution you visit to make name-changes he saw that Gullbert was still mentioned as one of his names. "I don't want Gullbert anywhere", he said and the women answer that it was impossible to change it all together "Since you where born with this name, and has used it since your birth".
So Gullbert made a forced entry over the counter and crossed out "Gullbert" himself.
Since that day no one's called him Gullbert again.
Adding to the story: When Gullbert was born there were these complications, but both he and his mother survived the ordeal. As a thanks to the doctor Gullbert parents thought they'd honour him by naming their son after him. Only they didn't quite get his name which was Gilbert, not Gullbert.

Words From MySpace - Pingu
I found my old knitting-stitches.
I'm about to embark on a journey towards a warm winter. Starting with a pair of fingerless gloves in pink. (my sweet mother gave me some yarn yesterday and was real happy to see them come to use I might add.)
The obituary for my uncles funeral was printed in the paper.
I felt really weird about seeing it.
Are you supposed to save obituaries of people you know?

Benrik diaries - Furbo, my ass! ; )
Therefore; all this cuddling with Italy must come to an end.
It's a bloody strange country Italy, when you think about it.
Like Eddie Izzard says:
The Italians are always on a moped with no helmet on, going 'ciao'!
However that's not true... They created fascism, home of the mafia, the roman empire and pasta - fucking spaghetti everywhere, clogging up every artery available.
It's evilness in it's prime I tell you.
Fucking Furbo.
Furbo:
Italian expression for when you're really street-smart and manage to achieve things with means very close to the edge of the allowed (and getting away with it).
It's looked upon as a good thing in Italy - to have lots of Furbo.
The lesson is never to trust an Italian on a moped, looking friendly - going Ciao.
How to go about creating a diplomatic incident with Italy I really haven't decided yet, so meanwhile I just spit in their direction. ;-)
Ciao!

Benrik diaries - Solen i blicken
... vi kommer att gå långt.
I don't know how to translate that.
Just felt like writing it down/being poetic.
Tasking:
Lend my mobile to an homeless person.
I've decided on doing this later.
I had a meeting with my boss today.
I'd give him a weak 9 out of 10 - for all the ways he reminds me of Charlie Brown.
Went to a picnic this weekend. Indoors (as seen in the the picture).
The picnic had a soundtrack - all of us went home with a CD that included a summersong that each perticipent had contributed with. I took Miriam Makebe - Pata, pata. "Ubasapp, weeiosapp, umapasapp.. eeeiiiooo..." You know.
Someone else took Jenny Wilson, Lordi, California love & african rhythms.
The night was a success...
Off to the doctor soon. Nadal playes Robin Söderling later. I might have a beer with some buddies from work.
Oh... but I learned a new word Omnivagant.
Omnivagant - \Om*niv"a*gant\, a. [Omni + L. vagans, p. pr. of vagari to wander.] Wandering anywhere and everywhere. [R.]
As an alternative to Ambivilent.
There you go! : )

Terminator, kidnapping and prostitution
Tasking:
I tried to find some statistics on kidnappings in Sweden.
Apparently there’s only been like twelve of them, ever. It’s regarded as being a fairly stupid crime to commit.
My momma didn’t raise no fool.
I had dinner with friends.
Feels like summer and they’re showing T3 on the telly now. Haven’t seen it since it first came out.
My belly hurts.
At dinner we had an interesting conversation about how you gender-specify things who’s not male or female. Like I would say that a regular banana is female, while an apple is male. The alphabetical letter A is male, B is female.
This makes absolutely no sense at all, but still…
And we wondered about how that part of the brain works? What does it base this classification on? (We also concluded that there’s gender-less stuff.)
T3 is a very masculine movie, isn’t it?
Powerful men with big guns and the governor of California.
Which reminds me... I watched a documentary (and other things) about John Holmes.
His brother had this to say about him:
Basically all John was were a prostitute with a nasty drug-habit and a big dick.
Cutting it short.

Benrik diaries - Them Stones
I’m a Virgo and in a very un-virgo-like manner I asked my co-worker to describe a typical Virgo.
She answered that she didn’t know anything about astrology.
”Well I don’t care!” I said.
And that’s when she described a Virgo as being: Friendly and dreamy.
So I aim to be unfriendly and grounded as a stone.
On a different note... today I heard about some guy who ate hundreds of chips and graded each one of them according to taste, shape, colour... That’s like the light version of that French postman who gathered stones each day during his round only to build himself a castle.
And so… we’re back on them stones again.
Did you know that Mick Jagger motivated his nicking of Jerry Hall from Bryan Ferry with: ”Well, someone had to save her from becoming Jerry Ferry.”
I better get back to my laundry.

Benrik diaries - Nostalgia
This is of course untrue. (I remember winning a slow-dance to ”Carrie” and all we got where these raspberry-flavoured bubblegums). But I had to write something down in order for them to play the song. Like other benrikans I’m thinking air-play might inspire someone else to buy it.
I’ve listened to the album. Honestly, it’s not very good is it?
Well, apart from the ”Too shy”-song.
And... I confess, I got nostalgic after hearing ”Never-ending story” - reminding me of my fairytale-days when I still thought I had some kind of power making me able to talk to animals.
“If only I could figure out how to use it!”
For next week I’ve decided to donate the album.
Well… *tired*
“Bed, bed, bed, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, bed, bed, bed.”
(That’s actually a lyric, just not a very good one.)
