Election-time

Finally it's election-time, should I chose to watch TV or just finnish the Buster Keaton box?

No, serriously... Tonight's the night Obama will be voted president of USA.

I've been somewhat hessitive towards the democratic system in the US for quite some time.
One of the reasons is that a political system can be more or less promoting of ones democratic right to vote. The more people who vote equals the democratic strenght of a political system (corrolating with the number of political parties/candidates you can choose beteen).

Hindrens to a more democratical US

- You have to register to vote!
- Elections are held on a Tuesday (and people have to take time off from work to vote)
- The system is not organized so that it's nececcerily the candidate who gets the most votes who win, there's something called elector-states which can screw up the hole thing.

Words from MySpace - (Mastodontfilms) Mats

So it's a regular Wednesday and I'm on the subway on my way from work when this man I know comes and sits down next to me, by accident.
I say "Hi" and he replies "Hi".
I get a bit supriced that he doesn't answer more eunthustiastic cause I know this guy and his wife from work and a couple of years ago. I've bumped into him before and usualy we greet eachother more than this. I get a bit confused and blunty ask "Don't you recognize me?"
"No. We don't know eachother."
"But aren't you Mats?"
"No I'm not."
Somehow I still doubt him, Mats always used to be a kidder, but still... I decide to take his word for it, that he actually knows who he is.
"You look just like an old collegue of mine"
"Oh no, there's another one?"
And then we laugh.
The guy opposite reflects on us not knowing eachother, that the moment is a bit embarrasing.
I reply: "Well, we know eachother now."
And when the guy who looks like Mats stands up for his stop, he tells me to give his best to Mats.

Benrik diaries - Paranoia

Yester night when walking home I noticed that builders had begun adding those building- things outside my window.
Since I can remember getting any information about them starting any reconstruction-work this can only mean that CIA are on to me and our little fraction of CIA-security-testers.
Be very careful out there!

(I might add that this morning they woke me up talking loud, throwing very heavy things around them and shouting to each other. Isn’t that just like them?)
I'll try to post a picture later.

Yesterday: A colleague woke me up at 9 asking if I understood the directions he e-mailed me about Karolinska (big labyrinth-like hospital). I answered "Yes, I think I’ll find my way" but wondered quietly to myself why he called me at 9 about this, our presentation at this place wasn't supposed to be until tomorrow (today).
We talked some more about the enormous size of Karolinska and in the end we agreed that it was probably better if we meet up before, at the main-entrance. "Ok, I'll see you in half an hour then!"
I said: "Ok"
Half an hour???
FUCK.
The fact that I'm not the most together-person who's always at the right place, at the right time widely known by now (I guess that's why he called to check). So during the whole conversation I had a sneaky suspicion that this was yet another one of my little screw-ups.
I hopped into a cab, got there in time and had to pay 180:- for this one.
Later when I got back to work and checked my e-mails and calendar fact of the matter was that this actually wasn't my mistake - it was my colleagues who had sent me the wrong date, but since I initially “covered” for him (thinking it was me again) I feel I can't say anything about it. This will just add to my image of whimsy ness.
Aggravating.

Well am looking forward to winning the popquiz later tonight with the new teather-buddies, as well as having some well-deserved beer.
