Words from MySpace - Connections!

I watched Actors studio on Dave Chapelle - VERY watchable. I haven't been very impressed before, but man... that guy's smart. (See the entire thing if you can.)

Anyway I was very surpriced to hear that his mother worked for Lumumba in Kongo - the place and time in a previous blog (about Dag Hammarskjöld) where I talked about how everything's connected... Ain't that special?!

I also started reading a book about charisma and when I meet Malin yesterday we talked about it. I showed her a quote from it that I liked:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

It's a quote often found on the Internet incorrectly credited to Nelson Mandela from his Inauguration Speech, 1994.

Again the world is a small place. Malins sister had just the day before shown her the quote as an idea for a performence.
How often do people randomly start talking about one specific quote whitin a couple of days?

I'm not a religious person. Or... that's not true. I do view myself as religious. I just don't confess myself to any religioun or God.
I just try to believe in the following that a woman I meet in Egypt told me (when we got into a very theological discussion:
"I believe in Life, it will bring me all the tools I need to get by."
I then find it fascinating how "life" sometimes apears to try and open your eyes toward some things you need to see, as if it's trying to comunicate with you and help you along the way. Hence coinsidences/signs like that!

This is me going so very Paulo-Coelho-"The Alchemist"-on-your-ass.

Now go enjoy your Saturday!

Words from MySpace - Little people

As I was walking home yesterday I passed a group of teenagers, hanging around like only teenagers do... but appareantly one of the boys was upset with one of the other ones. And he shouted: "You're the worlds tallest dwarf!!!"

It was a damn funny comment & never before have I felt so happy about people arguing.

Words from MySpace - Friendship & Treadmills

Cuteness:
Friendship is like peeing yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling it brings.

And this just might be the most amazing thing we humans have accomplished since that moonlanding-thing:

Words from MySpace - Midsummer, Champagne & Enrique

In Sweden we celebrate the time when everythings planted by raising a fertility pole and then we dance around it pretending to be frogs. We also eat raw fish.
We celebrated this yesterday.
However, I managed to avoid the frog-thing and the pole-thing and instead I we had a music-competition where I won a bottle of champagne (now stored in my otherwise limited filled fridge). I've never felt more like a hip-hoper.
I also won a fair amount of money playing cards.
In other words this midsummer was a day full of small victories and a bunch of laughter.

I also must confess that I enjoy todays pick for "currently listening to". Slightly embaresed, much in the same way as when you decide to have a pizza for dinner... (or worse... for breakfast.) But isn't it a fact of life that sometimes the tackiest thing is just what you need and you just can't avoid liking it? *blush*

Words from MySpace - No blue bits please!

So, we where having beer in the sun while talking about all the special things famous people require when they travel around. About how Mütley Crew wanted M&M's without the blue bits. About some rappers who always wanted supersized condoms, the romour about Mariah Carey requirement to have a bath in Evian. etc. etc.

Obviosly the question is "if you where a big star and toured around the world, what would you demand to always have at armslength?"
This is my answer:

Words from MySpace - Let the good times roll

Would I laugh myself to death if I OD on happy pills?

Today Siivan turns into a woman. Like Cinderella. Crossing the magical 30-limit.
She's decided to have a masquerade/grill-party on her pateo and got the sun on her side. The theme for the masquerade is music. "You could come dressed to a drum, but I was thinking more along the lines of some artist", said the invetation.
