Words From MySpace - Turning 30

Tomorrow should have been my uncles Birthday.
Instead we're burrying him next friday.

My thought is that after that we - meaning the family, needs something nice to gather around. And well... That's my birthday in some so-so time.

Originally my plan was to seperate friends and family. Throw two different events, but now... Well imaginge, the whole family gathering after this. Things feeling weird.
I really think we need other people to shift our focus. Get us back in a somewhat good spirit.

My will to do good knocks me on my shoulder, saying: "Hello! How you doin'?"

Benrik diaries - Viva Las Vegas

About a year ago I joined the Las Vegas suicide squad.

No, wait, let go back to the beginning…

I gave getting married a thought some years ago and came to the conclusion that getting married was a very Las Vegas thing to do. Meaning there's two things you have to do if you ever go to Las Vegas.
1. Play slot machines and cards at a Casino .
2. Get wed by an Elvis (preferably the 70's Elvis with big glasses and a nice white suit).
Who to marry? Any random dude really. (Annulments here we go!)

Anyway, my friend J told me about this Las Vegas suicide squad where all the members were supposed to buy an open ticket to Las Vegas and then at a specific date, when all else had failed for all members, we'd go to Las Vegas. Auhm... to do all the stupid stuff people do in Las Vegas.
Later I found out that you couldn't buy an open ticket.
Or well, actually, it was more of a fun imagining then ever considering as a possible option.

Update - tasking last week:
The day afterwards all our decorations were gone.

I'll write more about other stuff later this week, not much else to do, I'm staying put, in Stockholm.

Benrik diaries - This statue truly changed my life, if I had one.

Swedish Benrik-commando-brigade rules once again!

Mission: Add your touch to an artistic masterpiece.

Plan:
1. Decorate a statue.
2. Bring stuff for decoration. (I made the sign and I brought some fake hair since I thought we'd decorate a female-statue.)
3. Met-up with the other Benrikans at 19:00 Thursday.
4. Nicka turns up late. Lasr and Mr Olsson are one time, they seem to be people who are on time. I turned up on time.
5. Nicka arrives, we go through our mutual storage of decorations.
- A tiara (yes, Nickas, previous Benrik-tiara).
- A beard-cover contributed by mr Olsson (who doesn't have a beard himself I might add) .
- The stuff previously mentioned.
Lasr didn't bring anything besides a bright spirit.
6. Off we go.
7. On the way to the the statue in mind we find Mäster Palm, who has a beard, making him too good a target to pass, so, quickly we decorate him. Perhaps a bit too quickly. Complete satisfaction and a slight anti-climax.
8. Cure anti-climax by decorating another statue with Nickas yo-yo, conversation, laughs and a crispy chocolate muffin.

Task completed!

Keep an eye out for Mr Olsson's, Nickas and Lasr's blogs. I'm in a bit of a rush and haven't got that much time to write more, more and then some.

Peace and be wild!

Words From MySpace - Fingertips pt. 2

I asked a couple of co-workers about the fingertips-issue. But they didn't know.
- Unless it's Lepra, but we don't have that no more!

So I called medical information (08-320 100 xlnt).
A puzzled nurse said that the only thing she knew (besides Lepra) was that it could be a side-effect of severe diabetes. She had heard of cases where people had lost their toes.

Confession:
I'm a bit... should I say dissapointed (?) it wasn't a more mystical ill-ness than diabetes.

Today we're going to decorate the statue next to McDonalds by Sveavägen.

Words From MySpace - Fingertips pt. 1

Fingertips part I

Today I met a woman who had bandages around two of her fingers.

"Oh, but what happened to your fingers?" I asked. Perhaps a bit blunt, as I'm thinking back on that conversation now.

"Oh, nothing. I just have this ill-ness that makes me loose my fingertips" she said.

Oh, nothing???

Now, I wouldn't regard loosing my fingertips as nothing.
I would consider it to be a pretty big deal since I'm very found of my them.

I bet she lied.

(I'll probably get back to the subject. I've decided to look up more information about the ill-ness... Curious minds wanna know.)

Words From MySpace - Remotely

She couldn't sleep all night since she had the music on to loud.
And she didn't have the strength to fetch the remote-control on the table. Or to actually walk the 3 meters to the equalizer and turn down the volume, manually, you know.

So, she just laid there. Thinking about the fact that she should get up and turn down the volume.

1,5 hours later - by chance, she reached out and found the remote-control on her bed-side table.
Where it had been all the f***ing time!

Words From MySpace - Credit

Just before summer my local store closed and has been closed ever since. Untill today.
Turnes out they managed to sell it and turn it into a café. They serve Thai-Food. Which I have to try one of these days.

I have to wonder tho' how long it's gonna last.
Since I first moved into my building 3 years ago they changed owners 4 times, and rebuilt the store 2 of these.

I liked the first owners best - good old day's when I had credit.

Words From MySpace - Alright

I read:

"I'm alright. As long as you're alive you're somehow alright, right?"

And I figure that's slightly true.

A bit late I realized that Marit Bergmans "Can I Keep Him?" is quite a good song.
Comment: Better late than never.

Hmmm-of-the-day: I meet another Virgo and came to the concluion that I'm not very Virgo-like at all.
All my stuff decended into Libra, apparently (?).

Words From MySpace - Pingu

This Pingu-thing is damn funny (probably mostly enjoyable for those who know swedish though).

I found my old knitting-stitches.
I'm about to embark on a journey towards a warm winter. Starting with a pair of
fingerless gloves in pink. (my sweet mother gave me some yarn yesterday and was real happy to see them come to use I might add.)

The obituary for my uncles funeral was printed in the paper.
I felt really weird about seeing it.
Are you supposed to save obituaries of people you know?

Words From MySpace - Corps, sex and Israel

Yesterdays news was that a priest walked in on a guy having sex with a corps.
That's totaly gross.

And then there's Israel.

Benrik diaries - Puppies Need Love Too

"Properly trained, a man can be dog's best friend."

Well, this isn't France or Egypt. This is Sweden and stuff actually work here!
Meaning:
a) Most of the time dog-owners pick up their dog-poop.
b) We don't have dogs running around without an owner either - pooping in every corner.

Hence I'm not sure how to go about causing a debate about an issue that really isn't an issue.
So, sweet benrikans am I allowed to pick another small problem? (I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of a down-throw of our monarchy.)

Other:
I'm back at work. [without further comment]

I watched "Mississippi burning" twice during the weekend.
Why I saw it twice I really don't know. But I know Gene Hackman kicks ass.

Benrik diaries - Hello

Spent one week down south (eating, beaching and playing cards).

Last week should have been this benrik week!
T'was H O T! So, I managed to burn my skin on sun. Badly.
It's quite cloudy today. Cloudy and windy - good for my skin, bad for tasking.

Spent this day on the balcony with my father who decided to visit and spend some time with me on my balcony.
We had lots of coffee and talked just as much.
My sweet father.

2 more weeks of vacation.
Also sweet.

Mainly I just wanted to make an entry to say "hello again."
- Hello again.

Bye! : )

p.s. pictures of demolition to come, for those blessed with patience.
