Benrik diaries - Swedish-gang-tasking

Etnografiska Museét, Stockholm 10.00 am

I was first to arrive on scene.
No benrikans in sight, no staff in sight, in fact no people in sight.
So I decided to take look around.
Upstairs, downstairs...
Found a nice but weird museum, it had a collection of photographs I easely could have examined more closely, this native american room with couches and a small exhibition in honour of totem’s... but I really had other things on my mind; meet benrikans, strip an Englishman.

So I strolled back to the entry, I figured I needed to obtain some kind of map in order to find out witch room G really was and that’s when Miss B. stood there with her book and everything.
"Well, there you are, here we are... and... no one else..." (apart from this old couple who turned out to be Swedish.)
Two confused benrikans in the G-room.
"Where's Nicka and where's the Englishman?"
The suspense almost killed me!
Or, well, that's kind of an over-statement but anyway...
Soon enough Nicka appeared, laughing.

We hung around, Nicka looked at some key-chains,
"I collect them" she said.
And then, due to lack of Englishmen we went for some coffee, anxiously looking for muffins since we decided we needed them more urgently than that Englisman, but we couldn't find any muffins either. Set-back.
We had coffee outside (it's a lovely and sunny day in Stockholm), gossiped about benrik/benrikans and I was very impressed when Nicka showed her edition of the calendar - hers is nametaged!

Eventually the time came for some action. Find that Englishman, etcetera.
So we went back to the G-thing, looked around. Saw this young man (who later turned out to be very nice) who we sneaked up on. And the rest, as they say, is history.... ;-)

(See Nickas next blog for continuation and pictures.)

Evaluation:
Surprise 1: That Miss B. wasn't blonde (somehow I thought she would be).
Surprise 2: That's there wasn't more benrikans there... I mean the book sold plenty and even tho' not many Swedes Blog about it I figured a few more would have showed up, just out of curiosity or nakedness.
Disappointment 1 and 2: No Muffins and this lack of Englishmen... What the hell?

All-in-all it was really nice to meet both Nicka, Miss B and René. : )

Benrik diaries - Note from beyond control

Had a course in theatre all week. Not the right place to try and be invisible really…
The best thing I could do was to mysteriously disappear a few times…

Work-wise they gave me a system to manage.
So now I can comfortably say: "I've got a system!" : )
I’m gonna make it a really good system.
Possibly the best one ever.

QX diaries - The world just got up from the bath-tub

He laughs his most adorable laugh and I think about how I’m not worthy. But still… there’s this joy in hearing him laugh. Sharing that moment.

Across the table Anna looks at me with worried eyes and this morning I woke up thinking about how I’m crawling here, and what day is it? Am i supposed to be at work? When I realise I’m not i curl back into bed and stay there until 11:30.

I read:
”my teacher in Swedish said: The world just got up from the bath-tub.
That’s the only wise thing that teacher ever said and I’m very happy I was there to hear it and didn’t skip class."
I was amused when I read that.

At some point I sat on my balcony and remembered the time when I hurt my back and had to stay home for three weeks. I couldn’t do anything but drink tea and read. I listened to Ella Fitzgerald and Louie Armstrong too. Read the James Ellroy quartet.
Looking back those where good days.
What does that really mean?

Washing up and cleaning stuff. I wanted to get rid of some books and at a sudden burst of something I rang my neighbours door and asked if she wanted them. She did and then she told me about one of the other buildings that share a book-shelf. Like a small library. We came to the agreement that she would donate my books there after reading them.
I feel satisfied.

Benrik diaries - Muslimism and other hedon-thingy-things

I can be practical when I really, really want to.

So I've decided to be practical about trying out the major religions. Hence I'm Muslim today and Pagan on Friday.... just 'cause we celebrate midsummer here - a hedon slash Swedish tradition. We'll eat raw fish, dance around a huge (a Phallos) pole which is decorated with flowers and grass (a mighty symbol of fertilization).
Did I mention that we pretend to be pigs when we do the dance? Funky!

I also plan to get intoxicated and fall asleep somewhere in the woods - at one with nature... (Yes, I'm leaving the city).

And...

"If you've never seen an elephant ski, you've never been on acid."

Oh well...
Muslimism:
Mecka is south-east and I did morning prayers, and lunch and lunch again…

Hereby I'm also declaring a holy war against Israel and would like to use this time and space to state the following (aimed to the officials of Israel):

According to this holy calendar I follow I am spending today being a muslim. (Benrik - this calendar will change your life) And I've decided to start a holy war against you... my demands is that you end the occupation of Palestine and the oppression of the Palestine people.
Since I haven't got as gun or anything... I'm fighting this war by means of prayer to the great Allah. I pray for him to kill me during this struggle, to prove that I am a really great warrior. (I'm really doing some hard-core-praying). By dying during prayer for a free Palestine it will grant me a place close to him in the afterlife.
Consider yourselves warned! Surrender and I’ll stop! - Until tomorrow when I'm off to explore Judaism.

Allah achba!

p.s. If you have any suggestions for things to do tomorrow please let me know.

Benrik diaries - Monday, Monday.

I overslept. I feel so tired.
3 cups of coffee, going on my 4th. Will it help?
There's this mad thunder and rain outside, as well as many cars.

So, dear readers, as you might have heard there was a Swedish Benrik-meet this past Saturday.

We found:
- M1ndy, Rozebud and Lokomotiv
- Dog-poop
- A sceaming woman who tried to cheat me out of money (I've meet her before - even called the police on her, so I knew better).
- Muffins

Isn't it strange that benrikans are regular people? One would think that weirdos would be attracted to this kind of stuff. But from what I've learned that's not the case.

The meet was a success.
Therefor we're trying to organize some group-tasking for this week.

Chill out, be aware and stay put!

Benrik diaries - About a bike

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike.
Then I realised that The Lord doesn't work that way,
so I stole one and asked him to forgive me.

I got this new and very sexy mobile phone. The last one completely broke down.

Other than that me and A went to sell our stuff at this market place which turned out to be a very pleasent experience indeed.

This morning I went round my apartment looking for my calendar… couldn’t find it. Clueless as to what to do for this week I had 7 minutes of complete confusion and despair, until I found it. (Yes, I was quite overwhelmed myself by the emotional outburst.)

Anyway, today I'm going with Buddhism (BTW. There's been plenty of tasks relating to Buddhism and I'm sensing a slight religious favouritism on benriks part.)
Unfortunately things didn't start off that well.. there was meat in my breakfast, I ate it and now I don't know how to make up for it.
I'm so very sorry.

Well, peace dudes and dudets!

p.s. I found out about the Frensh song from some previous blog. The correct answer to my question was: Lââm - Enfant Du Monde. : )

Benrik diaries - Cobra Kai

I think I dreamt that my father yelled at me for something I had done (or if it was something I didn't do). The strange thing is that now, half-way into the day I can't decide if it really was a dream or if he really did it yesterday when I spoke to him.
I'm feeling pretty weird about the whole thing.

I just heard the most amazing French song, it sampled John Berry's theme from "the persuaders". If anyone know it I'd be very grateful? (I forgot to write it down.)

I'm not tasking this week. It doesn't soothe my personality to go around picking fights with people and besides I did extremely well last week... managing to sell myself on eBay and everything.

One funny thing I found are the simular items to me being sold on e-bay:
- "HEART KEY" 3 Cards from a painting by Jim Smeltz US $6.00
- 3am Art i come from a small town print US $24.99
- ACEO PRINT-SWAN GODDESS-Printed from a painting by Ting US $3.99
- ACEO PRINT- GRACE, a Leo Cow - from a painting by Ting US $3.99
What gave me away!?

My schedule wouldn't allow me tasking. I'm selling a few creative stuff this weekend at this market-thing. Also there's this picnic that me and a couple of friends have managed to put together. And of course I will not sacrifice my bowling-practise. I'm getting better. Although we're not a full team, yet.
I've talked to a few prospects:

"Are you interested in being part of our team?"
"I don't know. Do you have to be good?"
"No, we're mostly aiming to look damn attractive!"

That's where the other team-mates enter the picture.

Did I mention our team-name is "Cobra Kai bowlers"?
Not my idea. J's. By far it's one of his absolute top 3 ideas I have to say.

Benrik diaries - Give me a hug

... or place a bid.
For Christ sake my starting bid equals 5 chewing gums or half a daim-bar.

Yesterday I saw Ojos de Brujo, they were fucking great and you'd be doing a huge mistake not to explore them further.

And then I got home and there was this fire outside my building! (3 cars from the fire-department and 5 slightly confused neighbourghs.)

World Cup starts tonight. Wey... or something.
Still French Open continues and in my mind that's the biggest television-event of the year. Sorrow equals Sunday when it's all over and there's an entire year of waiting until the next one. How will I be able to survive?

1. Eat chocolate and cry (take time to really grief)
2. Solve world hunger (occupy my mind with other things)
3. Sleep for a year (the sleeping beauty-approach)

Damn. I should have recorded the bloody thing.
But that's right... I haven't got a VCR.

Benrik diaries - Selling myself on eBay

First off according to eBay I can only sell myself in Sweden (unless I pay a small fee, which I don't want to do).
I figure I'd have more success internationally.
Bummer.

Me at a bargain!

QX diaries - Pope

I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it. ; )
