The science of sleep


I've always heard that if you loose sleep you can't get it back by sleeping longer the next time.
Now, I don't know the science behind this but it 's lacking. If you couldn't regain your strengths, then by the time we got old we would just crack and die. And I haven't heard of any such cases.
Therefor the theory falls on it's own unbelievability.
